Latest Update: Globe Biotech's Three Covid-19 Vaccine Candidates Are Enlisted by WHO Draft Landscape
Globe Biotech Limited is the only company in the world to have three vaccine candidates listed by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is a great achievement for Globe Biotech Limited to enter the global race for the first time as a Bangladeshi company.
Earlier at the 5th October conference, Globe Biotech's Kakon Nag claimed that their "BANCOVID" vaccine is the first and only vaccine against ''D714G'' variant that would be effective against for the second wave of the corona. However, they did not mention the other two vaccine candidates: the DNA plasmid vaccine and the adenovirus type-5 vector vaccine at earlier conferences.
It has been revealed that Globe Biotech Limited has signed an agreement with the International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b), which will conduct three phases of clinical trials. The icddr,b B is now going for the trial protocol. Upon completion of the protocol, it will be applied for approval of the Bangladesh Medical and Research Council (BMRC) examination.
Since 8th March, Globe Biotech Limited has started to work on the developing of testing kit, vaccine, and medicine. Then, On July 2nd, it began developing the Covid-19 vaccine "BANCOVID". They are very optimistic that "BANCOVID" will hit the market in mid-February next year.
